Overview
Interface, Inc. is a leading provider of commercial interiors products including modular carpet and broadloom for commercial and residential applications as well as commercial textiles.
The Interface, Inc. Sustainable Strategies Team serves to:

Represent the global corporation, Interface, in its relationships with
governmental and nonprofit organizations focused on environmental initiatives.

Lead the EcoSense™ initiative that defines Interface's journey to
sustainability

Review and promote newer and more environmentally friendly
technologies/products/processes that lead the corporation to a lower
environmental footprint.

Provide leadership in the development of socially sustainable practices
appropriate for the global organization

Develop quantifiable metrics systems from which Interface companies can measure
their individual and collective performance in regard to waste reduction,
energy demand, life cycle impacts and other sustainability indicators
Interface, Inc. is the founding sponsor for the Envirosense®
Consortium, Inc., a nonprofit organization concerned with addressing workplace environmental issues, particularly poor indoor air quality.
Key sustainability initiatives include:
Key sustainability initiatives for Interface are managed and supported by the Sustainable Strategies group at Interface, Inc. This group is responsible for providing technical and logistical assistance to all business units in the collective efforts to promote and implement sustainability. Key programs and activities of this group are focused on educating, measuring, and promoting sustainability that would not traditionally be considered basic research. Some examples include social issues, measurement systems, life cycle science, internal and external communication, and Interface's strategy regarding issues that extend beyond our products, such as climate change.
Initiatives include:

Development and maintenance of
Interface's Sustainability web site

Compiling and analyzing company wide sustainability metrics and activities,
greenhouse gas emissions, toxic chemical inventories, etc.

Management and administration of the QUEST™ (waste elimination) initiative.

Management and administration of the EcoMetrics™ initiative, which includes the
activities that business units can use to become more sustainable, including
benchmarking and sharing of best practices for each facility.

Management and administration of the SocioMetrics™ initiative, which is a
systematic approach to measuring, understanding and developing ways to
positively impact the social aspect of sustainability.

Management of the Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) process for Interface which
includes working with all facilities worldwide to prioritize studies according
to business value and then using these studies to assist local management in
understanding environmental impacts from a holistic viewpoint.

Administration of the Interface Environmental Education Grant program which
awards up to 30 grants yearly for up to $500 USD each to teachers around the
world.
